Kimberly-Clark Will Use Methane to Generate Steam
Kimberly-Clark is currently having a pipeline built from the Three Rivers Landfill to it's facility in Beech Island. This pipeline will transport methane gas, produced in the landfill by waste decomposition, to a gas collection facility at the plant. From there, the gas will be burned and used to generate steam. The pipeline will span 15 miles and is scheduled to be operational by this coming April.
