Kimberly-Clark Will Use Methane to Generate Steam

ConservationKimberly-Clark is currently having a pipeline built from the Three Rivers Landfill to it's facility in Beech Island. This pipeline will transport methane gas, produced in the landfill by waste decomposition, to a gas collection facility at the plant. From there, the gas will be burned and used to generate steam. The pipeline will span 15 miles and is scheduled to be operational by this coming April.

Crackerneck Opens to Public on September First

ConservationThe Crackerneck Reserve will be open on Saturdays to the public beginning on September 1st. Scouting and fishing will be allowed in September, with hunting to begin in October.

2007 General Assembly Passes Most Energy Legislation in Fifteen Years

ConservationIt seems nobody has been able to escape the furor of media coverage concerning global warming this year, not even the SC General Assembly. The 2007 session resulted in the most energy and environmental legislation being passed in 15 years.
